I’ve touched on the importance of refueling immediately post WOD in my last post. Hopefully you have taken that information and run with it to maximize your gainz and set yourself up for properly fueled workouts tomorrow. I realize that life can be tricky/time-consuming/distracting so I started carrying AboutTime’s protein powder and their protein pancake mix as well as RxBars as a quick and delicious pain-free option for you.
I wanted to share my favorite protein bar recipe with you. It makes a great base recipe that you can customize based on your own particular tastes and it’s rather reminiscent of a no bake cookie… just saying. These are a great quick snack that you can grab on the go or throw in our freezer so that it’s ready and waiting for you when you finish your WOD. Enjoy!
1 ripe banana, mashed
1/2 c softened nut butter
1/2 c maple syrup
1/4 c melted coconut oil
In a separate bowl stir together:
1.5 c old fashioned oatmeal
1/2 c unsweetened shredded coconut
1/2 c raisins (or any other dried fruit)
2-4 scoops your favorite protein powder
Mix wet and dry. Stir in 1/2 c chocolate chips. Press into 9×13″ pan, freeze until hardened. Then you can cut and individually wrap bars. Store in the freezer. Alternatively you can roll into balls.
